Nurcan is a very talented graphic designer that graduated from the  Mohawk College full time program.  I had the pleasure of teaching her photography as part of her program and eventually brought her on as an assistant.  Nurcan had a wonderful opportunity to head out west and were sad to see her leave.  We headed out for some senior college portraits a few weeks before her flight and this is just a teaser of her shoot.

One of the best memories that I have is a photograph of my daughter in my hands when she was four days old.  It’s been 2 1/2 years since my daughter was born and I can honestly say I can’t remember it as clearly as the photographs we have mounted on our wall.  I love that we have the opportunity to create these amazing moments for families to treasure in years to come.  Recently we had the adorable Jacqueline in our studio for her baby photos and we love how the images came out.

Spring is such a wonderful time of year.  Everything is coming to life and the smell of rain is really refreshing.  We headed to the RBG with Joao & Sabrina for their engagement photos and as soon as we started, it began to pour.  Thankfully it only lasted 10 minutes and for the rest of the day we had sunshine and vibrant colours all around us from everything being wet.  Since Joao & Sabrina live about 3 hours away from Hamilton, we only ever Skyped and emailed.  I remember our very first Skype session and how relaxed and laid back they were.  They were referred to us by a past client of ours and we instantly connected.  These are just a few of their pre-wedding portraits at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington ON.

The RBG is one of our favourite locations for engagement photos and weddings.  With such a large area, it’s seldom that we ever do the exact same photos.  If you’re looking for a wedding venue that can accommodate both your ceremony & reception, inquire asap.  The Royal Botanical Gardens books two years in advance for their most popular dates.  Here are some wedding photos at the Royal Botanical Gardens that we’ve taken over the years along with interior photos of the hall, outdoor ceremony sites and wedding images around the grounds.

Jamie & Sandra booked our premium photo booth rental for their wedding at Winona Vine Estates.  It turns out that we bumped into several people that we’ve photographed over the years or at other events that they’ve used our photo booths at.   As usual, the guests had a blast and everyone partied late into the night.  All of the guests took home their photo-strips and since we had our social media kiosks there, many guests uploaded to Facebook, Twitter & Instagram immediately after their session.  More information about our wedding photo booths rentals and the difference between them.

I was delighted when John & David chose us to photograph their upcoming wedding.  Since they live in Texas, we were only ever able to hear each others voices over the phone and chat over emails.  But listening to them speak and reading between the lines in their emails, I could tell that they were a really wonderful couple.  The back story is that they met at a gym in San Francisco.  At the time John was already in a relationship so he avoided any conversation with David (other than polite hellos).  Approximately six months after they met, John ended the other relationship and three days later went to the gym hoping to run into David.  When John found him, he nervously approached, asked him for a date, and he accepted.   That was back in 1999.  Fifteen years later, the U.S. government began recognizing same-sex marriages.  It was on a trip back to Canada to visit family that John had casually mentioned that they should get married and David agreed.  When they arrived in Canada and told David’s family of their plans, they were beyond excited about it.  Until then, neither David or John had no idea how badly the family wanted them to get married.  These are just a few of my favourite of their same-sex engagement photos at Bronte Creek Provincial Park.  Here’s another same-sex engagement session we photographed not long ago in Hamilton
